ALL money donated to the Andy Lanes Foundation, for children in need in Pakistan, goes to help the children for whom it is intended.  ALL overhead costs, such as travel, stationery, telephone, time, are borne by Kay as part of her contribution to Andy’s charity.

The original donations came from family and friends of Andy Lanes after his death in November 2002.  They are too many to name but I hope they realise how much their support has meant to me and the trustees and, most especially, to the children they have helped.

There are some groups whom it would be remiss of me not to name.

3M colleagues and friends of Andy in the UK and Europe were very generous.

3M Pakistan gave a substantial donation and their continued friendship is much appreciated.

Andy’s beloved GITS (Golfers in Trouble Society), which continues to flourish both in Karachi and the UK, maintains its caring stance and many individuals continue to give support.

Rotary Continental Karachi, Andy’s club, equipped a sensory stimulation room for special children in his memory.  Club members have provided much needed advice willingly and free of charge.

Rotary Club of Darlington has funded our doctor for one year and Dr Ajit Sarker has been instrumental in diagnosing Mohsin’s medical problem and guiding me through the intricacies of the medical profession.

The United Kingdom Association of Pakistan recognised the support it received from Andy as a past Chairman with a generous donation.

The Italian Speaking ladies of Karachi funded much needed medical care for the children of Dar-ul-Sukun.

Friends from the British Women’s Association were a huge support and sent their contributions from all corners of the world, whether it was   Ritsuko and Denise’s Mahjong group in Singapore or Carol’s one man band in Jamaica!

When Bob Hayes, a dear friend, died last year, his wife, Brenda, and their children kindly thought of Andy’s charity and family and friends donated generously in Bob’s memory.

Many thanks must go to Sheila and Sue, the Keepers of the Keys, who donate so much of their time and effort in keeping my home and garden safe when I am away in Pakistan with the result that my garden has never looked better!

Last, but certainly not least, a huge vote of thanks is owed to Carolina and Juergen Koenig.  They gave me refuge immediately after Andy’s death and have continued to be my second family every time I am in Karachi.  Given the amount of time I spend in Karachi, the financial benefits to ALF of my staying at the Koenig B&B are enormous but outweighing that by far is the overwhelming loving support and friendship they continue to show to me and Andy’s charity.
